Dormitory

First and second student dormitories are located near the Central Campus of the MNUMS. The third student dormitory is located at the East Campus of MNUMS organized with the modern solutions.

The Mongolian National University was established in 1942, and the Faculty of Human Medicine, which was the foundation of the Mongolian National University of Medical Sciences started its activities based on MNU’s classrooms, student dormitory, and training facilities.

Student dormitory no.1 was first established in 1977 with a capacity of 374 students, and it has been continuously operating until today, providing opportunities for students and young people from rural areas to study and live in a comfortable environment. The "Student’s Dormitory Regulations of MNUMS" approved by the President of MNUMS with Order No. A/49 dated February 26, 2019. Student dormitory no.1 has an area of 840m2 and can accommodate 374 students. There are 104 rooms in total. Each floor has 3 reading rooms with a capacity of up to 30 students. Each floor has 4 toilets, 8 sinks, and 1 shower or hot tub. It cooperates with the Ocelo Family Practice, the youth-friendly clinic, and the police department of Bayanzurkh’s 6th district. 

The staff of the student dormitory works within the framework of the goal of reaching out to each student, treating them properly, creating a clean and comfortable environment in their second home, providing support when needed, and creating peace.

Meetings of the student dormitory staff are held regularly every month, and the work to be done and problems are discussed regularly to improve the quality of work.

Student dormitory no.1  of MNUMS selects its student council every year and prepares a work plan. The dormitory council is made up of 5 students. Every year, in order to ensure that students have a common goal, "Getting to Know" parties, volleyball, basketball, chess, checkers, and tennis tournaments are organized. Every year in December, the "Best Department" among the students is selected, and students and departments who actively participate are rewarded.

Student dormitory no. 1 was operating with a total of 328 students in the academic year 2021-2022, and 26 students come from Lao People's Democratic Republic. During the Covid-19 pandemic, the student dormitory was not operating at 100% occupancy, but it was working with the high capacity to meet the needs of the students. During the pandemic, 4 isolation rooms and 1 reserve room were set up, and students infected with Covid-19 were treated in isolation rooms. According to the decision of the President of the MNUMS, resident physician B. Bayarma has been providing medical care and health services to the students continuously.

Student dormitory no.2 was established in 1977 with a capacity of 374 students, and it has been continuously operating until today, providing opportunities for students and young people from rural areas to study and live in a comfortable environment. The "Student’s Dormitory Regulations of MNUMS" approved by President of MNUMS’s with Order No. A/49 dated on February 26, 2019.  As of today, 350 Mongolian students and young people from rural areas and 6 graduate students and young people from China are living at the dormitory of MNUMS. 

The dormitory of MNUMS strives to create a comfortable environment for students and young people to work, study, develop and live, and to provide quality services that ensure safety first. 

The dormitory no.2 of MNUMS has a total staff of 7 people. It includes:

The student dormitory no. 3 of MNUMS started its operation on September 2019 with 1 dormitory manager, 2 organizers, 2 janitors, 2 watchmen, 2 locksmiths, a total of 9 employees and 297 students. As of March 30, 2023, it is operating with 12 employees, 512 domestic students, 24 foreign students, 35 residents and graduate students, and 141 employees of the MNUMS.

 

During the Covid-19 period, the 14th floor was used as a hospital for 5 months.  82 doctors from 17 provinces who were mobilized during Covid-19 were placed by the government's decision. 35 teachers have accommodated 76 students at the annual MNUMS art and sports festival. There are 24 students from the School of Public Health living at the dormitory. 8 students live in one room, dormitory has 16 floors and with a total number of 300 rooms.
